Former Bedford Police Chief Among 'Republicans for Nyquist'
Nine Bedford Republicans on list of supporters.

The Lee Nyquist for State Senate Campaign announced yesterday the formation of the group “Republicans for Nyquist.”
The coalition of 51 Granite State GOP members who have offered their support to the New Boston Democrat includes nine Bedford names, including retired Bedford Police Chief David Bailey
“For the many years I have known him, Lee Nyquist has always been fair-minded," said Barry Scotch of Bedford. "He is a great consensus builder."

“I’m supporting Lee Nyquist for state Senate because he has always shown fairness and good listening skills as a town moderator.” said Susan Clay, a former Republican state representative and selectman from New Boston. “He will be an effective state senator because he can reach out to people on both sides of the aisle to move our state forward.”
In addition to the Republican support within District 9, Nyquist has garnered endorsements from around the state.

Claira Monier has donated to the Nyquist campaign and has a large Nyquist sign at her Goffstown home on the road to New Boston.
“I have known Lee for over twenty years as a member of the Manchester Rotary Club," she said. :He has been a reliable and effective leader and he’s just the kind of person we need in Concord.”
Kimon Zachos, recipient of numerous awards for his civic participation and dedication to the state, is another Republican who has endorsed Nyquist.
His endorsement is one of the first listed on the Nyquist campaign website’s endorsement page. It reads:
Lee Nyquist is truly the right person at the right time to help our legislature return to the principles of good government and bipartisan problem-solving. He will bring insight, intelligence, and experience in bringing people together in Concord.
This week, Nyquist also received endorsements from the Professional Firefighters of New Hampshire and Gov. John Lynch, who previously nominated Nyquist to chair the Unemployment Compensation Advisory Council, a nine person panel comprised of representatives from business and labor that oversees the Department of Employment Security.
“Lee Nyquist has the ability to bring Republicans and Democrats together to solve problems, and he is the kind of leader we need in Concord," said Lynch. "He is the right man at the right time for our state.”
“I am humbled by the support I have received from New Hampshire Republicans, Independents, and Democrats,” said Nyquist. “I hope to serve in the mold of our great moderate statesmen, people like our late Republican Governor Walter Peterson and our current Democratic Governor John Lynch.”
