Get Ready for the Our Promise to Nicholas Egg Hunt
Seventh Easter Egg Hunt, honoring Nicholas Dainiak, to be held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, in Bedford.

Spring fever will spread with the exciting activities at this year’s Annual Our Promise to Nicholas (OPTN) Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for Saturday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the NH Sportsplex in Bedford, according to a press statement.
All things bright and beautiful will return with this popular children’s celebration of Easter, now in its seventh year. OPTN’s mission is to raise funds and mold partnerships to promote awareness, provide education and fund the development of research to fight a rare and fatal brain illness called Batten Disease.
The OPTN Foundation is proud to have the overwhelming support of businesses and volunteers enthusiastically coming together giving their time, money and resources.

This event is more than a celebration of Easter; it is a celebration of life and memory of Nicholas Dainiak who lost his battle with Batten on May 9, 2014, on his 11th birthday. It is the spirit of hope and community togetherness that makes this event so special. The heart and soul of this event is highlighted by the spirit of the children’s enjoyment and the knowledge that the OPTN Foundation’s mission is being carried forward. Your presence at this year’s festivities will provide funding for expert nursing care to the children suffering from Batten who are in attendance at the Annual Batten Disease Conference held this year in Chicago, IL. Your support will also provide funding for a necessary scientific study: a biorepository and natural history database through Harvard University and the University of Rochester. With your support we can reach our goals!
The entire family can enjoy Easter egg-citement with the ongoing entertainment and activities at this year’s festival. The NH Sportsplex will come alive as children scout the field and scramble for colorful candy and sticker filled eggs. Hunting will take place every ten (10) minutes! For those not actively “hunting,” there will be live entertainment including yoga for kids by Let’s Play & Namaste and a demonstration from the Bedford Martial Arts School. There will also be a magic show from Scott Jameson. Appearances from Wally the Green Monster, the Granite State Clowns, a Party Palace Princess and of course that famous Bunny himself will fill everyone with joy. In addition, there are games, face painting, bounce houses, a silent auction, bake sale and numerous themed Easter Baskets up for raffle.
Tickets are $8 per person or $30.00 per family. Please register for the event at optnegghunt.eventbrite.com. Cash, check or charge will be accepted at the door. With the new action packed line-up the OPTN Easter Egg Hunt aims to attract even more families both within and outside the Bedford area. Get there early, as doors open at 8:30 a.m. to experience all that the festival has to offer.
