Gun Fired EMTs, Cops During Medical Call: Report

Manchester Police, NHSP set up a wide perimeter this morning attempting to find the alleged shooter on Elm Street.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police are investigating a report of a gun fired at first responders this morning after they were attempting to assist an intoxicated person passed out on Elm Street, according to police. At just after 2 a.m. on Aug. 13, 2016, an officer and detective found an individual passed out in the parking lot of the Triangle Credit Union on Elm Street. They called in EMTs to assist and an American Medical Response ambulance arrived to transport the person.

“A single gunshot and loud crack was heard by those on scene, with the round believed to travel past them and over their heads,” according to Sgt. Richard Brennan of the Manchester Police Department. “The gun shot appeared to originate from the wooded area behind AL Prime Gas 276 Elm St.”

A large perimeter was set up by police from Queen City Bridge to the Merrimack River. A search of the area was completed, with the assistance of K9 teams, NH State Police Troopers and police detail officers but no suspects or evidence were located. No injuries were reported as a part of the incident.
