Gun Violence Conspiracy Theories, Out-of-State Groups Behind HB 1589

Manufactured problems do not require solutions

New Hampshire does not have a gun violence problem, but try telling that to the tin foil hats over at Granite State Progress.

Granite State Progress is a local astroturf group (Soros-funded) that calls itself a "strong, credible voice in advancing progressive solutions to critical community problems." However, because of its past record of false accusations, name calling, and self-contradiction, it can not be taken seriously.

And currently it's no different with the false information they are spreading about HB 1589.

HB 1589 was written by Connecticut’s Newtown Promise organization and New York’s former Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, working with a small group called New Castle Promise, NOT by mandate from the majority of people of New Hampshire.

Once the  mission of Bloomberg's total gun ban and citizen disarmament was discovered, 50 mayors separated from his group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

Poughkeepsie Mayor John Tkazyik explains why he left Mayors Against Illegal Guns:

"MAIG became a vehicle for Bloomberg to promote his personal gun-control agenda — violating the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens and taking resources away from initiatives that could actually work to protect our neighborhoods and save precious lives. Gun control will actually make a bad situation worse."

The suggestion that significant gun violence must be addressed in New Hampshire is completely bogus. There is no legitimate data suggesting this.

The State of New Hampshire was considered the safest state in 2010 and repeatedly falls in the category of the top three, if not THE safest state in which to live, year afer year, based on crime data compiled by CQ Press.

If passed, HB 1589 would violate the NH and US Constitutions regarding basic second amendment rights, and may be challenged in court.

It may be impossible to enforce as many do not plan to comply.

This legislation is also anti-women.

Tell Ed "Bathroom Bill" Butler and the rest of your representatives that you want this bill killed.  All Reps: hreps@leg.state.nh.us

And call or write Zandra  and tell her nicely, when it comes to tin foil hats, hers  isn't very fashionable these days.
