Hey Southern NH: Watch NASA Launch a Rocket Tonight

On Oct. 16, the Orbital ATK Antares rocket with cargo for the International Space Station will be launched into space from Virginia.

If you look up to the heavens at just after 8 p.m. tonight and see a rocket blast up to the sky, it is the postponed launch of supplies to the International Space Station (ISS), according to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The flight was delayed until Oct. 16, 2016, due to recent hurricane activity in the region but will likely take place tonight. The rocket, which is being launched from Virginia, also has the Orbital ATK Cygnus spacecraft on board. This unmanned, automated cargo vehicle is expected to replace the Space Shuttle for bringing supplies to and from the ISS. Other spacecraft from Europe, Japan, and Russia have been resupplying the ISS since 2000, according to the org.

NASA begins a live feed of the launch at 6 p.m.
