Homeowner Catches Alleged Burglar: Report
Jonathan Patella was arrested last night after police were sent to a burglary in progress call.

GOFFSTOWN, NH — A man was arrested and held on cash bail after allegedly being caught burglarizing a home in Goffstown last night, according to police. Jonathan Patella, 38, of an known address, was arrested on Dec. 17, 2016, for burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Police, according to a press report, were sent to the Edmond Street area of the town last night around 6:30 p.m. for a report of a burglary in progress. When they arrived, they found a homeowner who had detained a suspected burglar, Sgt. Geoffrey Pinard of the Goffstown Police Department noted. After brief investigation – which allegedly included the revelation that he was in possession of burglary tools at the time – police arrested Patella.

Patella was held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections on $50,000 cash bail. He will be arraigned in Goffstown District Court on Monday.
Patella, according to online reports, has been arrested a couple of times in recent years. In November 2012, while a resident of Lowell, MA, he was arrested for simple assault and domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to the Lowell Sun. He was arrested in Berwick, ME, while living in Enfield, on a drug charge in late 2014 early 2015, according to fosters.com.
