Local Man Arrested on Child Sexual Abuse Images Charges

Matthew Riehl faces 10 felony charges after being arrested last week.

GOFFSTOWN, NH — A local man was arrested on numerous child pornography charges after an investigation by Bedford Police and other law enforcement organizations involved with the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Matthew Riehl, 24, of Goffstown, was arrested on Sept. 1, 2016, on nine counts of possession of child sexual abuse images and a single count of certain uses of computer services prohibited, all felonies.

According to Goffstown Police, officers executed a search warrant of Riehl’s home last week. During the search, police reportedly seized electronic media devices and equipment.

Riehl was processed an released on $150,000 Personal recognizance. His bail conditions include no access to any electronic devices that access the Internet and no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18. Riehl is due to be arraigned on Sept. 23.

“Goffstown Police continue to investigate the case to determine if additional charges will be filed,” according to a press statement from Jason Oullette of the Goffstown Police Department.
