Locals Flock to Kohl's Grand Opening

After months of anxious anticipation, Bedford residents were finally treated to a taste of Kohl's this past Sunday, when the national department store opened the doors to its 10th New Hampshire location.

The soft opening complete, the store, today, held its grand opening, an event that included the Bedford and Departments.

According to the Union Leader, Bedford store manager Megan Dumont spoke briefly at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“It's about what customers save, and what they get,” Dumont told the UL. “We are proud to be a part of the Bedford community.”

Bedford Patch reported the store had its first , and the story in the Union Leader indicated customers have been receptive to the new retail establishment.

Dumont said traffic flow had been steady since the store's soft opening on Sunday, and there were customers waiting at the doors Sunday morning.

The Bedford store includes some green features, including recycled and regionally sourced building materials, water-efficient landscaping and plumbing fixtures, improved indoor air quality through increased fresh-air ventilation and use of EnergyStar-rated roofs.
