Love Bulldogs? Come enjoy their antics at the Bully-mpics, a fundraiser for LIBR!

What do NH and Long Island have in common? Bulldog rescue! LI Bulldog Rescue (LIBR), serving the Northeast, is having our big fundraiser.

Come join Long Island Bulldog Rescue on October 17 in Amherst, NH for our fabulous Bullympics.

Long Island Bulldog Rescue, a 501C3, is devoted to provide education, prevention, intervention, and adoption services to ensure that English Bulldogs throughout the Northeast enjoy long, healthy lives in loving, safe, appropriate homes where they are provided the life-long care they require.

While bulldogs are one of the most popular breeds, they also are one of the higher maintenance dogs available. As a result, families can become overwhelmed with their care. LIBR rescues many of these dogs and places them with families who are familiar with the breed and their care and special needs. As an example, the Barnes family of Amherst, NH recently adopted Sir Winston, a 10-year old bulldog. While Sir Winston’s life prior to LIBR was largely a mystery, he ended up with LIBR, who sent him to a terrific family in Maine for foster and medical care. From there, he was adopted by the Barnes family. He can now be found slowly wandering the family farm or sleeping peacefully on the sun-drenched carpet.

Understandably, these rehabilitations aren’t inexpensive: Dogs can arrive at LIBR with a whole host of issues typical of the breed---skin, eyes, palate---and LIBR brings them up to health before allowing for their adoption. The Bullympics, to be held on October 17 (rain date of October 24), will feature some of these wonderful adopted dogs competing on a “Non-Agility Course”, “Running of the Bulls”, and a costume contest. The event will also feature a silent auction. All proceeds will go directly to LIBR. Please find information at the link below.
