“The Majestic Theatre & Ted Herbert Music School To Offer Summer community Classes.”

The Majestic Theatre and Ted Herbert Music School is pleased to offer theatre and music classes to community members this June and August. Classes include opportunities for students of various ages. This is a great way to learn something new, enhance existing skills, make new friends and have some artistic fun!

Classes will be held at The Majestic Theatre/Ted Herbert Music School Studios located at 880 Page Street, Manchester, NH 03109. To enroll contact karen@majestictheatre.net or call the office at 603-669-7469.

Classes include:

DRAMATIC PLAY with Jocelyn Duford. Open to children 2 – 4 years of age accompanied by their caretakers. June 6, 13, & 20, 2023 9:45am – 10:30am Cost is $75

Every week is a new adventure! Young children and their caretakers will be immersed in active dramatic play using warm-ups, storytelling, improvisation, and dress up! Dramatic play is a great way to develop self-expression, social skills, and body awareness, all while having tons of fun.

NEVER TOO OLD FOR IMPROV with Jocelyn Duford. Open to adults and seniors. June 6, 13, & 20, 2023 11:00am – 12:00pm Cost is $60

In these sessions, there is no script! Through different exercises, we will hone our on-the-spot storytelling skills, the art of improvisation! Using the principal “Yes, And,” we will build up a repertoire of improv games and sharpen the reflexes needed to become both a better actor and improviser. We will learn the importance of listening, creating a character, as well as the value of being in the moment.

BEGINNING PIANO COURSE with Diane Francoeur. Open to adults and youth ages 15 an up. June 15, 22 & 29, 2023 3:00pm – 4:00pm, cost is $100 / $80 for THMS students.

This course is offering 3 one-hour lessons which are held in a group format once a week. These lessons are designed for people who are beginners at the piano and will introduce concepts in standard musical notation (reading music), basic-level piano repertoire, and piano technique. (Keyboards provided, cost includes piano book)

BUCKET DRUMMING with Jeff Samataro. Open to youth ages 7 – 18 years

August 16, 23 & 30 12:30pm – 1:30pm, cost is $90 / $75 for THMS students

This Group Bucket Drumming course is offering 3 one hour group lessons which are held in a group format once a week. In these sessions kids will learn how to communicate better with their fellow students by learning how to listen to others, how to understand and demonstrate techniques for playing various types of rhythms. Understand and demonstrate percussive techniques and Improvise rhythms. Learn rhythms from various cultures and parts of the world
