Man Accused Biting Police Officer After Brawl At Local Bar: Cops
Richard Torres is accused of biting and kicking a police officer during an attempt to get the Massachusetts man into a police car.

MANCHESTER, NH - A 23-year-old Massachusetts man was arrested early Sunday morning following a bar fight after which the man bit an officer that was attempting to place him in a police car, Manchester Police said Monday.
Richard Steven Torres, 23, Lawrence, Mass., was actively fighting with the security guards at 3 Kitchens Bar and Grill on Valley Street after police were called at 1:15 a.m. . Police were able to take him away from the crowd.
Manchester Police spokesperson Heather Hamel said that When officers arrived, they spotted a large group of people yelling in the parking lot and security guards holding onto one individual. Hamel said Torres was uncooperative and made derogatory comments and threats toward the officers.

He was very aggressive and struggled with police and offers had to use a taser to get Torres into handcuffs, the spokesperson said. As police tried to get Torres into a police vehicle, he bit an officer in the forearm, causing a significant wound, Hamel said. Torres also kicked the officer in the back and legs, causing him to stumble out of the vehicle.
Torres was charged with assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct, criminal threatening, and resisting arrest. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Manchester Circuit Court on Monday.
