The man – Watts – was stopped and after an investigation, was arrested after police allegedly determined to be responsible for a burglary on Forest Drive.

“It appears that this man has been battling an opioid addiction,” Chief John Bryfonski of the Bedford Police Department said in a statement. “This is, unfortunately, an example of the negative effects drug addiction can have on a community. I would like to applaud the citizen who noticed suspicious activity and immediately contacted police. With this person’s help we were able to quickly find the suspect and hold him accountable for his actions.”

Officers also located a white 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD pickup truck parked nearby on Camp Road, which was reportedly determined to be the suspect’s vehicle. It was towed from the scene, according to police.

Watts was held at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrects in Manchester pending his arraignment at the 9th Circuit Court - District Division - Merrimack.
