Man Dies After Being Hit While Walking at Intersection

Bedford Police: Theodore Pobywajlo killed after crash on Back River, Country Roads yesterday.

A local man has died from injuries he sustained after being hit by a car on Nov. 29, according to the Bedford Police Department.

Theodore Pobywajlo, 75, of Back River Road in Bedford, was taken to a local hospital after being hit by a car while walking near the intersection of Back River Road and Country Road at around 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 29.

Pobywajlo suffered what police called “serious injuries” and was transported to a hospital where he later died.

The driver of the vehicle, a Bedford man, was not injured and police stated that at this time, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. No charges have been filed either, according to the alert.

Police are, however, investigating the crash and are asking anyone who may have seen anything or witnessed the accident to call Sgt. Devon Kimball of the Bedford Police Department at 603-472-5113.

According to online reports, Pobywajlo and his wife were supporters of a number of charitable causes including The Care Givers Inc. of Bedford, Families in Transition, the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire, and New Hampshire Audubon.
