Manchester Man Arrested After Bedford I-293 Crash
NHSP: Leonard Constant was arrested on charges after reportedly rolling over a pickup truck and injuring two others.

BEDFORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police have arrested a Manchester man on charges after he allegedly crashed his pickup truck on the off-ramp from Route 101 West onto I-293 North in Bedford. Leonard Constant, 24, of Manchester, was arrested on July 13, 2017, and charged with operating after suspension, reckless conduct, and possession of a controlled drug. At just after 11 a.m., troopers were sent to a single-vehicle crash and found that Constant reportedly lost control of his 1998 Ford Ranger pickup truck.

The pickup truck then rolled over off to the right side of the highway, according to Lt. N.A. Noyes of Troop B.

“Constant became entrapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by personnel from the Manchester and Bedford Fire Departments,” Noyes alleged. “Once freed from the vehicle, Constant was transported to the Elliot Hospital for serious, but non-life threating injuries.”

Two passengers – a 22-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, both from Manchester – suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and were also transported to Elliott.
Constant was arrested, processed, and released on bail.
Assisting at the crash scene were members of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, Manchester Fire Department and Bedford Fire Department. The roadway in this area was shut down for a short period of time to allow first responders safe access to the crash.
