Manchester Police Investigating A Suspicious Death Of A Man Who Was Shot

Queen City police, fire, and AMR responded to a report of a man who had been shot. CPR was being performed in an apartment at 1015 Elm St.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police and the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office are investigating the death of a man that occurred inside an apartment building at 1015 Elm St. on Monday.

Police, fire, and AMR ambulance responded to a report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound at about 3:40 p.m. While enroute, responders were advised that CPR was in progress. Once on scene, MFD asked for a 20-minute timer while they performed CPR, and the man was declared deceased after the 20-minute attempt to save their life.

Police surrounded the block between Concord and Amherst streets and cordoned off an alley behind the address with crime scene tape. A police officer, accompanied by a K-9 trained to detect weapons and ballistic evidence, swept the areas around the address.

Detectives arrived at the scene and transported two women and one man to the police station to obtain statements about the incident. The people transported were not in custody as reported by some social media reports.

The scene, located in one of downtown Manchester’s busiest areas, drew many people to watch what was happening. At this time, investigators believe that all known parties have been identified and that there is no threat to the public, according to the attorney general’s office.
