Mass. Man Crashes Into Toll Plaza
NHSP: Distracted driving appears to be the cause of Bedford accident on Memorial Day.
A Massachusetts man was cited earlier today for marked lanes violation and warned about distracted driving after a crash at the Bedford Tollbooth on Memorial Day, according to an alert from the New Hampshire State Police.
Troopers, according to the alert, were called to the toll plaza around 12:30 p.m. on May 25, 2015, for a report of an accident on the northbound side.
When they arrived, they found a 2001 Volvo S70 sedan on top of the concrete barrier of the plaza. The operator, a 35-year-old man from Middletown, MA, reportedly stated that as he approached the tolls, “he reached down on the passenger side of the vehicle for the toll money and then crashed into the toll plaza,” according to Sgt. Steve Callinan.
