Megan Douglass: A Democratic Mom’s Support for Senator Ricciardi

As a Democrat and a mother, I believe it's important to support leaders who are dedicated to improving the lives of families.

As a Democrat and a mother, I believe it’s important to support leaders who are dedicated to improving the lives of families. That’s why, this election, I’m backing State Senator Denise Ricciardi for re-election.

While I don’t always agree with her party, Senator Ricciardi has consistently demonstrated her commitment to issues that matter to moms like me. Her work on the “Momnibus” bill, which addresses maternal healthcare, shows she understands the struggles women face during and after pregnancy. This bill is about improving healthcare for mothers, reducing maternal mortality, and ensuring that every mom—no matter where she lives or what her background is—gets the care she deserves. As a Democrat, I appreciate how this legislation takes a compassionate and inclusive approach to healthcare.

Senator Ricciardi also recognizes the importance of education. She’s worked to ensure that parents have a voice in their children’s education while still supporting the critical role of public schools. It’s clear she listens to her constituents and makes decisions based on what’s best for families, not politics.

What I admire most about Senator Ricciardi is her willingness to work across party lines and find common ground. At a time when politics feels more divided than ever, she has proven that real leadership means focusing on solutions, not partisanship.

For these reasons, I’ll be voting to re-elect Senator Denise Ricciardi, and I encourage my fellow Democrats to do the same.
