UPDATE: Minimum Security Inmate Found

Richard Robert Fortier left the facility to look for work and reportedly did not return.

Update: According to Jeffrey Lyons of the Department of Corrections, at 5:05 pm, Richard Robert Fortier returned to the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit. He was transported to the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces that a resident from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester has been placed on walk away status, according to a press statement.

On Wednesday, June 24, 2015, Richard Robert Fortier, 26, of Keene, reportedly left the facility at 6:45 a.m. to go to work. He allegedly did not show up and was placed on walk away status at approximately 12:30 p.m., according to an alert.

Fortier is described as a white male, 5-feet, 8-inches tall, 170 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. He has tattoos on his left arm and right arm.

Fortier was sentenced in Merrimack County Superior Court to two to four years for reckless conduct. He received 93 days of time served credited to his sentence. He was admitted to the New Hampshire State Prison on Jan. 10, 2014, and is eligible for parole on Oct. 8, 2015. His maximum release date is Oct. 7, 2017.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau and the New Hampshire State Police are investigating. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call their local law enforcement agency or the New Hampshire State Prison at 603-271-1801.
