More than 1,000 Grams of Drugs Taken Off NH Streets

Cops arrest two after a traffic stop leads to alleged cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, and cash seizure.

MANCHESTER, NH — A motor vehicle stop in the Queen City led to a large drug and money seizure by police, according to Manchester Police. Edwin Ruiz, 29, pictured, of Golfview Drive in Manchester, was arrested on Dec. 1, 2016, on four counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute. Also arrested was Antonio R. Alicea, 33, of Wheelock Street in Manchester, for sale of a controlled drug and three counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.

The Manchester Police Department Special Enforcement Division conducted street level interdiction operations yesterday “in an effort to disrupt the distribution of narcotics/controlled drugs within the city,” according to Sgt. Michael Biron of the Manchester Police Department. The officers stopped a vehicle and alleged that Ruiz was in possession of 11.8 grams of heroin and $8,264 in cash.

“The vehicle involved in this incident was subsequently seized,” Biron stated. “A search warrant was granted by Ninth Circuit District Manchester and a search of the vehicle yielded the following 883 grams of cocaine with a street value of $55,000, 98 grams of crack Cocaine with a street value of $10,000, 23 grams of Heroin with a street value of $1,000 and various prescription pills.”

Both Alicea and Ruiz were arrested, held, and arraigned today.
