Nashua Man Burglarizes Apartment He Was Evicted From: Cops

Patrick Baker was arrested for resisting arrest after SWAT teams were sent to Granite Street for an incident this morning.

MANCHESTER, NH — A possible burglary incident in the West End sent police and SWAT teams to Granite Street in an attempt to remove the alleged intruders, according to police. Patrick Baker, 27, of Nashua, was arrested on Sept. 25, 2017, for resisting arrest or detention. Police, according to Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department, were sent to an apartment building on Granite Street after two subjects allegedly broke into the building and reportedly refused to leave after being confronted by the landlord.

After arriving at the scene around 7:30 a.m. to investigate the incident, police were able to remove a 27-year-old homeless woman from the building. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Nashua NH Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

The woman was not charged, O’Keefe stated, but the man – later identified as Baker – allegedly remained inside.

“Officers on scene were told Baker had been living in the apartment, but was evicted by the landlord several days ago,” O’Keefe noted. “They gathered additional information that Baker was armed with a weapon and made multiple attempts to speak with him, but he refused to speak with the officers on site.”

The city’s SWAT Crisis Negotiator’s Team attempted to communicate with Baker but he allegedly failed to answer them or leave the building. At around 11 a.m., SWAT teams breached the door and took him into custody.
