New Hampshire World Refugee Day

A refugee can be a friend, neighbor, your child's classmate, the person sitting next to you in class, on the bus, or in your house of worship. Refugees are incredibly resilient people who have overcome unimaginable trauma and persecution and are determined to survive and contribute the their new home country. On Saturday, June 14 at Victory Park and the YWCA in Manchester, NH from 11:00 to 3:00, folks from across New Hampshire will celebrate the contributions of refugees in our communities and around the world.

World Refugee Day was established by the United Nations to honor the courage, strength, and determination of women, men, and children who are forced to flee their homes under threat of persecution, conflict, and violence. Our strength as a community and as a nation comes from our interest in not only our differences, but in those things that cross all cultures - the importance of family and education, as well as the desire to succeed and the chance to give our children every opportunity for a better life.

New Hampshire World Refugee Day will be commemorated with kid's activities, multicultural performances, a community resource fair, and more. New Hampshire World Refugee Day is made possible by partnerships from a number of New Hampshire Organizations. The event is family-friendly, and free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
