Marks first Primrose School to open in New Hampshire on Dec. 6.
Aspiring to make a difference in the lives of Bedford-area children and their families, and to mark the official entrance of Primrose Schools into New Hampshire, Primrose Schools Franchise Owners Jim and Jane Barnes will host a grand opening event for local families to celebrate the new Primrose School at Bedford Hills on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 10:15 a.m., and the celebration will include face painting, school tours, a photo booth, magician and puppeteer, along with music. Primrose School at Bedford Hills, which officially opened its doors to students on Tuesday, November 18, is the first Primrose school to open in New Hampshire and the second Primrose school to open in the New England region. With a current school staff of 12 and looking to add more new jobs to the community, the 12,700 square-foot school is poised to serve more than 180 local children and families.
The school will offer the Primrose exclusive Balanced Learning curriculum, which blends teacher-guided and child-initiated activities with a special emphasis on character development, for children 6 weeks to 6-years-old. Over the past six years, Primrose Schools has used the Bracken School Readiness Assessment to ensure the effectiveness of its proprietary curriculum. Additionally, for students up to age 12, Primrose Schools offers the Primrose Explorers after-school program, further shaping young people for success in learning and life.

“We always knew we wanted to invest in a meaningful business and pursue an opportunity that would make a positive difference in our community,” said Jim. “We understand the importance that early education and care can have on a child’s cognitive, social and emotional development. As the first Primrose School in New Hampshire, we look forward to introducing the Primrose experience to Bedford families and providing children with the tools to help them succeed in school and life.”
The school features 10 private classrooms with wireless technology throughout and 19,000 square-feet of secure age-appropriate playground space to accommodate each stage of the children’s early development, including equipment specifically designed to help develop and grow their gross motor skills. The playgrounds also feature synthetic turf to create a much cleaner and safer environment for the children. As part of Primrose Schools Thumbs Up! Enrichment Program, one playground has no equipment, as it is specifically designed for physical development and activity. Furthermore, children will continue to develop their fine motor skills in the Primrose Patch – a garden on the school’s property that enriches school curriculum with monthly gardening and nature study.
As safety is a top priority, the new school also features the official Primrose Schools Safe School Plan, which provides guidelines to ensure ongoing safety measures are in place and parents and staff members are well prepared for emergencies. Primrose School at Bedford Hills is located at 3 Cooper Lane.
