NH Bank Robber Gets 63 Months in Prison
Andrew Dufresne robbed the People's United Bank in Manchester in 2014. He arrested two days later after crashing a stolen car in Methuen.
CONCORD, NH — A local bank robber is heading to jail after pleading guilty during in June and being sentenced in U.S. District Court in Concord on Nov. 15, 2016, according to a press statement. Andrew Michael Dufresne, 44, of Manchester, robbed the People’s United Bank at 1750 Elm St. in Manchester on April 9, 2014.
Dufresne entered the bank and stated, “Give me the money,” to a teller. He then reached into the teller’s cash drawer and took several bundles of bills – about $1,500 – and fled the bank.
“Bank alarms were activated and the Manchester Police Department released a statement concerning the robbery, including surveillance photos of the defendant,” U.S Attorney Emily Gray Rice said in a statement. “Shortly thereafter, the police received phone calls from individuals who identified Dufresne as the robber.”

On April 11, 2014, police caught up with Dufresne and he led them on a chase through Lawrence, MA, according to the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune. He eventually crashed a stolen car in Methuen, MA, and was arrested at the scene. He was prosecuting in Massachusetts and is currently incarcerated on those charges.
According to Rice, Dufresne pleaded guilty in June of this year and was sentenced to 63 months in prison yesterday.
