NH State Police Make Nearly 4,200 Vehicle Stops
Labor Day weekend's "collision reduction effort" highlighted by state police.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire State Police is deeming its “C.A.R.E Life Saver Weekend” traffic enforcement on Labor Day weekend, in an effort to reduce collisions around the state, a success, based on the department's interaction with the public this holiday weekend. From Sept. 1, to Sept. 4, 2017, according to Capt. John Marasco of the NHSP, troopers stopped 4,181 vehicles, cited more than 1,000 drivers for speeding alone, gave out more than 2,400 warnings, and charged 39 with driving after suspension. Another 65 people were arrested, according to a report.
“State Troopers maintained a highly visible presence throughout the state to provide for safe holiday travel,” he noted. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Concord NH Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
Troopers also were able to make 15 driving while intoxicated arrests this weekend and were called to 56 motor vehicle collisions, including one fatal crash.
