NH Woman Arrested Walking Naked On South Main Street: Cops

Hydie Surprenant of Derry was arrested on marijuana possession and disorderly charges in the West End of the Queen City this morning.

MANCHESTER, NH — A local woman was arrested in Manchester while allegedly walking naked in the West End of the city, according to police. Hydie Surprenant, 26, of Derry, was arrested on Aug. 23, 2017, and charged with possession of a controlled drug and disorderly conduct. At just after 1:30 a.m. this morning, police were sent to the area of South Main and Harvell streets for a report of a naked woman inside of a motor vehicle.

When the first officer arrived at the scene, he reportedly observed an empty 2004 Ford Focus parked on the side of the road with its taillights on – and a naked woman walking in the middle of the street, according to Lt. “The women walked toward the passenger side door and attempted to gain entry as the officer approached her,” O’Keefe alleged.

The officer allegedly “detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from her breath as he tried to speak with her” while also providing her with an emergency blanket. Surprenant was then arrested on a disorderly charge.

A drug charge was added after officers allegedly located a small bag of marijuana on top of her purse, O’Keefe noted.

Surprenant was released on personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Sept. 27.
