NH Woman Busted For Baking Roommate’s Ferret: Cops
Ivana Clifford reportedly set off smoke alarms in a Queen City building this morning after allegedly placing a roommate's pet in an oven.

MANCHESTER, NH — Baked ferret, anyone? That’s what Manchester Police and Fire and Rescue teams found early this morning after being called to alarm activations at an apartment building 80 Lowell St. The smoke in the building call came in at just after 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 8, 2017, according to Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department.
“The call for service originated from smoke caused by a burnt item located inside an oven,” he noted. “Firefighters cleared the building and discovered a deceased ferret inside of an oven.”
The two tenants of the apartment reportedly told police that their roommate – Ivana Clifford, 26, of Manchester – was allegedly involved in the incident.

The tenants stated that Clifford was a “temporary guest” and was standing outside of the building with others. After speaking with the tenants – who owned the ferret – and then Clifford, the officers “gathered enough probable cause” to arrest Clifford on a single count of animal cruelty.
