NHTSA Launches #justdrive Stop Distracted Driving Campaign

The administration is asking everyone to get the word out about distracted driving on Thursday.

No text is worth a life. That’s the message the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is trying to get out with a push to end distracted driving.

On Thursday, April 30, the NHTSA is asking folks to Tweet-up all day with the has tag #justdrive on the dangers of distracted driving.

“We want to reach the people who think that texting and driving is okay, the ones who justify it by saying they’ve never crashed before,” said the announcement.

The NHTSA reported that in 2013, 3,154 people lost their lives to distracted driving crashes and that more than 660,000 people are using a cell phone or manipulating an electronic device while driving at any given moment of the day.
