According to police, an off-duty officer reported suspicious activity at the Bedford HomeGoods location on Kilton Road, activity that the officer alleged mirrored a popular credit card fraud that is being reported nationwide involving scammers using stolen identities and bank information to purchase gift cards in large quantities, according to a press statement.
The off-duty officer touched base with on-duty patrol officers who were then able to stop the person’s vehicle as it was leaving the area. After a short investigation during the traffic stop, Buchanan was arrested. She was held on $10,000 cash bail and is due to be arraigned on Monday.
