Officials Find Large Moose In Bedford Swimming Pool

BEDFORD, NH — Bedford police and fire officials responded to an unusual scene Thursday morning, when a large moose was found standing in a swimming pool on Riddle Drive.

Authorities were called around 8:45 a.m. after the homeowners found the moose under the pool cover, according to the Bedford Police Department.

First responders removed the cover, after which the moose "walked out of the pool on its own and left the area," heading into the woods, police said.

"I want to remind residents that moose can be very dangerous animals due to their size, and we appreciate that residents called us this morning to assist with this situation," Bedford police chief Daniel Douidi said. "We're pleased that no people or animals were harmed in this incident."
