A teen was struck last night on Union Street in Manchester; a 59-year-old woman was also shot outside of a store on Hanover Street.

MANCHESTER, NH — Police in the Queen City are asking for the public’s help in finding a man wanted for questioning after two people were hit by stray bullets last night in Manchester.
Police are seeking information about a Hispanic man, of an unknown age, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with short hair, that was wearing a white tank top and light blue jeans last night after shots were in the area of Union and Auburn streets at just before 9 p.m. on July 23, 2016. Witnesses reported seeing a man fleeing east on Auburn Street after the shots were fired. He was reportedly in possession of a handgun at the time he was fleeing, according to police.
Two of the victims – a 16-year-old and a 59-year-old woman – were struck with stray bullets in two locations of the city.

Police were sent to the area for a report of multiple shots were reported fired. When officers responded to the scene, they found the teen shot in the back.
“Before the shooting, both the juvenile and (an 18-year-old) were reportedly playing basketball at the courts at Beech St. and Green St.,” according to Sgt. Ken Loui of the Manchester Police Department. “They then went to the Dollar Deluxe Store at 334 Union St. to purchase drinks. Soon after leaving the store to return to the basketball courts, they heard what sounded like multiple gunshots behind them, prompting them to flee from the area.”

It was only after arriving back at the basketball courts did the juvenile realize that he had been hit in the back with a bullet. The juvenile was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment, where he remains in stable condition, according to Loui.
A second victim was located near the Down The Block Convenience at 167 Hanover St., “a significant distance from the area where the shots were originally heard.” The woman reported hearing multiple gunshots while sitting outside of the store when she was hit in the top of the foot with a bullet. She refused medical treatment and was released.
