Political Forensics: Nyquist Got Would-be Cop-Killer Off on a Technicality
Sometimes you have to dig a bit deeper to find out the true nature of political candidates, especially ultra-liberal attorneys.

As a citizen, I have the utmost respect and admiration for our nation’s first responders’ (police, firefighters, EMT’s etc.); because they swear an oath of allegiance and make a commitment to serving and protecting our welfare. As a union member, I am also in solidarity with police and firefighter fraternal orders.
But what about political candidates running for public office; shouldn’t they also have the public’s safety as their prime concern and be held to the same high standard? Well some do, and some don’t. And sometimes you have to do a little background digging or ”political forensic investigation” to determine a candidate’s true nature and identity and where their priorities lie.
Consider for example the case of ultra-liberal attorney Lee Nyquist, Democratic candidate for NH Senate District 9. Nyquist made a name for himself by winning an appeal and freeing a would-be-cop killer from jail after he shot Manchester police officer, Sgt. Leo LeBlanc, in 1979.

In addition to arguing that the defendant, Jesus Ramos, had good personal character (Really?!?), Nyquist created a strategy to impugn the character of the officer shot by Ramos, LeBlanc, stating that he “had significant motivation to testify falsely at trial.”
Throughout the appeal, the state, being the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, counter-claimed that Nyquist’s brief contained “a plain distortion of the facts.”

Nyquist however proved victorious for his client and the state Supreme Court overturned Ramos’ conviction and remanded the case to Hillsborough County for a new trial. Ramos subsequently accepted a plea deal and moved to New York.
The story, unfortunately, doesn’t end there. Four years later Ramos was back in New Hampshire and again arrested in Manchester – this time for dealing cocaine and imprisoned for 10 years!
Here’s the bottom line: I cannot trust nor vote for any candidate who purports to represent the people in a public trust; who willingly represented a drug dealing, would-be-cop killer scum bag, who made a mockery of our judicial system, especially the police who protect us; nor should you!
