Merrimack High School and Souhegan of Amherst have or 15 years. Though there was talk about ending the annual clash for the coveted milk jug, both coaches decided to extend the game for at least .
Likewise, the Queen City Turkey Bowl has filled Gill Stadium for decades, pitting the top two Manchester squads for an yearly dual for decades.
Some feel Merrimack could be a worthy opponent for Bedford each year, should Souhegan pull its team its current rivalry.
Others think Manchester West would be an ideal opponent. After all, the majority of born-and-raised Bedford residents are WHS alums. The thinking, of course, is that such an annual contest would create a polarizing environment that would certainly garner plenty of interest from those who currently reside in town and those former Blue Knights visiting for the holiday.
Whoever the opponent, the idea certainly has plenty of support. In fact, a group of particularly passionate Turkey Bowl supporters even created a Facebook page dedicated to the effort.
