Powerball Jackpot Could Break $300M on Wednesday
New Hampshire lottery officials say it will be the biggest jackpot in about seven months; cash option will be around $191.4 million.

New Hampshire lottery officials are marking the largest Powerball jackpot since February 2015, for Wednesday, Sept. 30, when it is estimated to reach the $301 million.
“You can just sense the excitement whenever the Powerball jackpot reaches the $300 million mark,” said Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery Commission. “Our retailers are reporting strong sales as it is such a thrilling time for our New Hampshire players hoping become the next Powerball!”
The Powerball jackpot has been growing since early August. This estimated $301 million jackpot is the largest Powerball jackpot since February, when the jackpot reached an astounding $564 million - the third largest Powerball jackpot on record. The largest Powerball jackpot in history was $590.5 million, which was won on May 18, 2013, in Florida.

If you win on Wednesday, the cash payout option is estimated to be $191.4 million before taxes. Tickets are $2.
Powerball tickets are on sale at more than 1,250 retailers in New Hampshire until 9:50 p.m. Drawings are on Wednesday and Saturday nights.

Since 1964, the New Hampshire Lottery has had a significant financial impact on the state. For the past 51 years, the New Hampshire Lottery has recorded almost $6 billion in lottery sales and other earnings, with more than $3.8 billion being paid in prizes and other cost of sales, according to officials. Net proceeds to education total more than $1.7 billion to date.
