Property Rights Rally March 23

Federal land acquisition is an issue that touches New Hampshire

How much US land does the federal government own? Some say they should not own any, and others say the states should decide.

New Hampshire’s laws are very clear. Four bills — HB 1291, HB 1147, SB 350, and SB 324 — have been filed in hopes of giving teeth to those laws.

These bills are currently being discussed in the House Resources, Recreation and Development Committee:

HB 1147 among other things, would establish ”a moratorium on federal land acquisitions.”

HB 1291 among other things, would require “approval of federal land acquisitions by the governor, executive council, and general court”.

Landowners in NH are being challenged by the expansion of the Silvio Conte National Wildlife Refuge. They and others hope to raise awareness with a rally at the Statehouse on March 23 at 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM.

Below is an invitation from Hon. Robert Giuda and Hon. Anne Cartwright for all concerned citizens to attend.

As federal land rights issues escalate all over the U.S., we are holding a rally for concerned citizens from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM on Wednesday, March 23rd outside the N.H. State House in Concord. Our purpose with this rally is specifically to protest increasing federal acquisition of private lands in NH to the detriment of NH property owners and communities.

Both the U.S. Constitution and NH laws, including NH RSA 121, contain restrictions on such acquisitions. Help us challenge elected state and federal office-holders to uphold the U.S. Constitution and to comply with New Hampshire laws.

Attendees are strongly encouraged to review NH RSA 121 in its entirety to better understand the purpose of this rally and the importance of this action relative to protecting New Hampshire property owners from further loss of property rights through federal activism.
