Resident Reported Missing from Transitional Housing Unit

MANCHESTER, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announced on March 24, 2017, that a work release resident of the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester is missing from the facility. Domenic Thomas Beraldi, 23, formerly of Rochester, allegedly left the facility at 3:15 p.m. on March 24, 2017, to report to work.

"His employer reported that upon arriving Beraldi demanded his paycheck and ran off," Jeffrey Lyons, a spokesperson for the NH DOC alleged. "He was placed on walkaway status at approximately 4 p.m."

Beraldi is described as a white male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on his chest and upper right arm.

Beraldi is serving a 1 to 3 year sentence, with 125 days of time served credited to his minimum, from Strafford County Superior Court for theft. He began serving this sentence on Aug. 18, 2016 and was eligible for parole on April 14, 2017. His maximum release date is April 14, 2019, Lyons noted. He was also serving a four year concurrent sentence of Probation from Strafford County Superior Court for Conduct After an Accident. His probation expires Aug. 30, 2019.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau and the New Hampshire State Police are investigating this incident and are asking anyone with information on Beraldi's whereabouts to call the New Hampshire State Police or their local law enforcement agency.

A walkaway is considered an Escape from a correctional facility, which is a Class B Felony that is punishable by up to 3.5 to 7 years in prison.
