Rombeau: Let’s Keep NH an Amazing Place for All

State Representative Catherine Rombeau is running for re-election to keep New Hampshire affordable and to protect local decision-making.

As I finish my second full term as one of Bedford’s state representatives, I want to say thank you for our community’s engagement. I’ve focused on supporting our schools, improving health care access, and investing in safe infrastructure, while keeping an eye on hidden fiscal impacts. As a parent of two daughters in Bedford schools, a former Town Councilor, and an attorney who understands the importance of clients’ financial realities, I recognize these priorities for our residents.

But the most recent state house session saw enormous efforts to defund state obligations to our public schools, roads, and seniors–pushing those costs down to our local property taxes. In addition, the state legislature continues to strip local control from municipalities. Bedford does an excellent job making its own decisions on how to budget for our schools and public works, develop and review educational curricula, manage commercial and residential development, and run our local elections. We do not need Concord to tell us how to do it.

I am grateful you have given me the chance to serve our town these past few years. I ask for your vote again in the Democratic primary on September 8 and in the general election on November 3.
