Everett Turnpike Crash Leaves 7 Injured, Backs Up Traffic For Miles
Breaking: EMTs from Merrimack, Bedford, Nashua, along with NHSP, Merrimack Police at the scene; one arrested after field sobriety test.
MERRIMACK, NH — Numerous people were injured this afternoon after a two-vehicle crash on the northbound side of the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack at just before 2 p.m. on Aug. 8, 2016. One vehicle – a car – reportedly struck a minivan and sent that vehicle up onto a guardrail. A car went south into the northbound lane and then over an embankment. New Hampshire State Police gave a field sobriety test to the driver of the car and he was arrested.
Traffic was reportedly backed up for miles on both sides of the road as first responders cleared the scene. There are more photos on the Manchester Information Facebook site:

There is still heavy traffic at the scene, according to Merrimack Police, although the crash scene has been cleared, according to NH DOT.
