Breaking: The National Weather Service issues weather alert for the Granite State through Friday.

GRAY, ME — The National Weather Service has issued an urgent heat advisory alert for the rest of this week in New Hampshire and the region, according to an alert. The alert was posted at 3:03 p.m. on Aug. 10, 2016. Forecasters warned that after thunderstorms move through the area this afternoon and early evening, expect “a hot and humid air mass” to move into the region.
“By tomorrow afternoon, the air temperature over much of southern New Hampshire and far southwest Maine will reach the mid-90s,” according to the alert. “With humidity factored in, the heat index is expected to rise to 100 degrees or hotter Thursday afternoon.”
