“Today, we honor and remember the nearly 3,000 innocent people who were tragically murdered in the horrific terrorist attacks against our nation on September 11, 2001. We will never forget those men and women – including ten from New Hampshire – and we will never stop praying for their families and loved ones. Today, we should all reflect on the tremendous sacrifice made by the first responders who rushed into danger to save others, honor all those we lost, and remember that in the face of such evil, America was strong. We also must thank the men and women in uniform who have served or are still serving our nation to protect our freedom. The Islamist terrorists hoped their attack would result in bitter division here at home and fearful retreat abroad. Instead, the American people unified and demonstrated that no terrorist organization can undermine the fundamental goodness of the American people or intimidate the United States.” – U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-NH

"We will never forget the thousands of lives we lost on 9/11 or the sacrifices made by our first responders, who risked their own lives to respond to this horrific attack on our country. As Governor, my number one priority will be to keep New Hampshire safe — and I will always support our law enforcement officers, our first responders, and our troops who work tirelessly everyday to keep our state secure." – Colin Van Ostern, D-Concord, candidate for governor.

“Brave Granite Staters, members of the New Hampshire National Guard, are right now deployed in foreign conflict zones, fighting terrorists abroad to prevent another attack like the one we experienced fifteen years ago. Today is a day to honor their service and sacrifice, as well as all those who lost their lives in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. More recent events in Chattanooga, San Bernardino and Orlando are stark reminders of persistent Islamic terrorism that requires greater resolve, clearer purpose and stronger action. We must never forget.” – U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta, R-NH

"15 years ago today, our nation lost nearly 3,000 innocent lives in an unspeakable tragedy. They were friends, loved ones, neighbors and heroes. They were men and women who believed in and displayed the values of America—of freedom, liberty and equality. Our country demonstrated an unwavering resilience worthy of those values in the days, months and years following September 11. In our darkest days, the strength and character of the American people shone brightly for all to see. We showed the world there is no obstacle the American people can't overcome—no challenge we cannot meet. We will never forget those we lost that day, the survivors, the fire fighters, police officers and safety officials who tried to save them, and all those affected by this terrible loss. It is up to all of us to honor their legacy by building a future in which love defeats hate and hope conquers fear." – Ray Buckley, New Hampshire Democratic Party

"Fifteen years have passed since that tragic day, when the world watched in horror as radical Islamic terrorists attacked freedom at it's heart. Instead of crumbling, our nation stood strong. Led by the heroic efforts of our firefighters, police officers and other first responders, who rushed into harm's way to save others, we made our way through one of the darkest moments in our nation's history. Today we remember in prayer those innocent lives lost, and we ask our Father to continue to give comfort to their loved ones left behind. We remember with profound gratitude those who gave their lives that day, and those who lay themselves down in defense of our great nation in the years that followed. The strength of a nation is measured not by her politicians, but by her people. We learned fifteen years ago that our people our strong, and our resolve to preserve freedom, and remain forever a beacon of hope for freedom seeking people everywhere, is unending." – Jennifer Horn, New Hampshire Republican State Committee.
