2 Killed in Nashua Crash
A car burst into flames after the driver flew off the Circumferential Highway; the vehicle plummeted 40 feet and hit a railroad bed.

NASHUA, NH — Two people were killed in Nashua Saturday night after police said a vehicle flew off the Circumferential Highway, dropped nearly 40 feet, struck a railroad bed, and burst into flames.
The gender and identities of the victims were not released as of Sunday morning.
Police said the pair were in a Nissan Maxima driving east on the highway at about 10:15 p.m. when the driver tried to take the ramp to the Daniel Webster Highway "at a high rate of speed." The car instead continued across the grass median and flew off the ramp, dropping 40 feet down and 150 feet away from the ramp, according to Deputy fire Chief Karl Gerhard. The vehicle burst into flames upon crashing next to the railroad tracks at the bottom of the Merrimack River Bridge, according to state police.

"It appears that speed may have been a factor in this crash, however all aspects remain under investigation," said state police Sgt. Brian Viglione in a statement.
