"The search remains active and could take an extended period of time," Nashua police Lt. Kerry Baxter said in a statement Saturday night.

Goulet told his parents he was walking to a friend's house Friday night and hasn't been heard from since. The storm drain is located on the probable route Goulet took to his friend's house, Baxter said.

Authorities returned to the area Saturday after the boy's parents reported him missing. A search involving dive teams was launched. Areas to be searched include:

  • Nashua River
  • Merrimack River
  • The entire underwater storm drain system north of Water Street and south to Sawmill Drive

Goulet is 5 feet, 8 inches and 200 pounds. He was wearing a denim vest, black shorts, and black sneakers at the time of his disappearance, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call Nashua police at 603-594-3580.

Nashua police scheduled a news conference Sunday at noon to provide an update on the case.
