Homeless Man Bagged on Bank Robbery Charges
Michael Giles allegedly robbed the TD Bank location on South Willow Street in Manchester this morning; was charged with other robberies.

MANCHESTER, NH — A homeless man was arrested this morning not long after allegedly knocking off a South Willow Street bank, according to police. Michael Giles, 40, a homeless man now located in Manchester, was arrested on Nov. 27, 2016, and charged with two counts of robbery and a single count of attempted robbery.

At around 11:30 a.m. this morning, police were sent to the TD Bank on South Willow Street for a report of an unarmed robbery. Not long after, other officers were in the area of Gold Street and John Devine Drive and came across a man who was trying to start a mini-bike/scooter vehicle who match the description of the suspect.

The subject – Giles – “was in possession of clothing that was observed in surveillance footage from the bank as well as an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency,” according to Lt. Andrew Vincent of the Manchester Police Department.
After eyeing security footage from previous unsolved robberies, police issued charges against Giles for a Nov. 23, robbery at the TD Bank on Bay Street and an attempted robbery at the Citizens Bank on Elm Street on Jan. 22.

It is unknown at post time of Giles is a suspect in a robbery in Hooksett at a Citizens bank location, reported the day after the January Manchester bank robbery. The suspect in that robbery appeared to be wearing the same clothes, including a Patriots cap, according to pictures posted on Facebook by police.
