I-93 Shut Down Due to Crashes

UPDATE: I-93 South has re-opened at just before 4 p.m. NH DOT reports teams are clearing the roads. Speed limits are down to 45 mph.

WINDHAM, NH — Alerts online are reporting a multi-vehicle accident that has shut down I-93 South in Windham on Jan. 7, 2016. The alerts started being sent out at just before 2:30 p.m. The road re-opened to traffic at just before 4 p.m.

Rockingham Alert and Jeffrey Hastings of Frame of Mind Photography reported that there were unknown injuries at post time. The crash scene is in the area of the Windham scales.

At least 10 tow trucks have been requested to the scene by New Hampshire State Police. NH Fire Alarm is reporting that numerous ambulances are also being sent to the crash scene.

The Rockingham County Sheriff's Department is reporting crashes in Hampton Falls, Sandown, and Stratham.

Pelham Police are being more direct on Twitter: "Heavy snow outside. Please drive safely and only go out if you need to."

NH DOT reported on Twitter that the roads were being treated by teams and speed limits had dropped down to 45 mph.
