Sanborn Gets NRCC 'Young Guns' Nod
The GOP state Senator who is running for Congress in the 1st Congressional District has been named to the "Young Guns On the Radar" program.

BEDFORD, NH — A New Hampshire congressional candidate has been named to the first round of the National Republican Congressional Committee’s “Young Guns On the Radar” program. State Sen. Andy Sanborn, R-Bedford, was named to the list today. He is one of 31 candidates across the nation to be named in the first round.
“I am incredibly proud of my entire team and network of supporters for working so hard to get us here,” he said. “Making the Young Guns on the Radar program is a clear sign that Republicans nationwide know that we can win this race, and that our campaign is the only one with the strength and momentum to do so.” (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Bedford NH Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts. The NRCC “On the Radar” program is designed to “create high performance standards for fundraising, organization and viability, where the bar is set high and those who exceed in its performance are officially recognized,” according to the campaign. It focuses on candidates running in competitive congressional seats that have to have met the minimum thresholds in campaign organization and show potential to achieve greater status in the program as the cycle progresses.

While the NRCC does not “tip the scales to favor any one candidate over another in Republican primaries,” the org does recognize “exceptional performance,” the campaign noted.
Sanborn’s campaign noted that he had about $175,000 on hand – more than outgoing U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, D-NH – and more than any other candidate in the race.

“We truly have a once in a decade opportunity here to put this country on an even stronger path to prosperity, leaving behind the failing big government policies that Carol Shea-Porter and Nancy Pelosi fought so hard to keep in place,” said Sanborn. “I am excited to exceed this first benchmark and push forward to rally Granite Staters as we continue to fight for lower taxes, smaller government, and less job-killing regulation.”
