Sanborn Proposes Addiction Recovery Options
State Senator calls for peer-to-peer, holistic services that are currently lacking in the Granite State

Today, Division I of the Joint Task Force for the Response to the Heroin and Opioid Epidemic discussed legislation for long-term peer-to-peer recovery services proposed by state Sen. Andy Sanborn, R-Bedford.
Sanborn issued a statement following the Joint Task Force’s discussion on this legislation.
“The Task Force was established to review legislative proposals that support a holistic continuum of care, including prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts as they relate to the heroin and opioid crisis facing New Hampshire,” he said. “Today, we focused on my proposal that would establish long-term addiction recovery treatment options that are currently lacking in New Hampshire, including treatment centers or peer to peer recovery services that are holistic, widely available and at an affordable cost.”

Sanborn added, “There are 23 million people in the United States who identify themselves in long term recovery. In order for those fighting addiction in New Hampshire to be successful in long term recovery, our state needs to be better equipped to provide long term treatment options for individuals seeking to break from the cycle. I look forward to working with the Task Force to establish the best options for long-term recovery in our state so that we can curb this tragic substance abuse crisis.”
