Seinfeld 'Soup Nazi' to Help Big Brothers Big Sisters

Will there be Soup for You? Find out on Monday, October 6th at the Bridge Café (1117 Elm Street) from 10AM-2PM and take your chances with Larry Thomas, AKA the Seinfeld Soup Nazi. Thomas will be serving (or not serving) soup, signing autographs, and posing for photos, all in the name of great soup and helping Manchester youth in need of a mentor in their life.

The Bridge Café has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Manchester (BBBSGM) to celebrate The Bridge’s award-winning soups, but also to give back to the community and make a difference for at-risk youth. All proceeds collected at the event will be donated to support one-to-one mentoring programs in the Greater Manchester community.

BBBSGM is dedicated to enriching the lives of children, especially those in need of consistent role models, through one-on-one friendships between youth ages 5-18 and mentors ages 9th grade to 80+. The one-to-one “matches” meet a few hours each month and establish connections through low cost or no cost activities and outings.

With over 300 youth currently being mentored throughout the 57 towns in 5 counties the organization serves in southern and central New Hampshire, there still remains a significant need. BBBSGM hopes that Manchester will “Man Up”—currently there are 30 Little Brothers who have been waiting for a mentor to come into their lives for one year and longer.

“Mentors tell us they get more out of the experience than they ever thought possible, and the impact of spending time with these kids who don’t have a consistent adult role model in their lives has proven to contribute to healthier families, better schools, stronger communities and brighter futures for all,” said Katie Orlando, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Manchester. “All it takes is 4 hours a month to make a difference—I urge everyone to strongly consider this opportunity. Boys in Manchester need you!”
