Rand Paul Tops CNHT Straw Poll
Yearly event hosted in Hillsborough draws candidates, local groups.

The Coalition of NH Taxpayers held its 17th Annual Taxpayer Reunion Picnic on Saturday, July 11, at the American Legion #59 in Hillsborough, where a crowd of about 200 gathered.
Among this year’s speakers were presidential candidates Carly Fiorina and Gov. Jim Gilmore and representatives from 11 local liberty groups who maintained an informational presence. Staffers were on hand from nine campaigns to answer questions and distribute literature.
The first straw poll of the campaign season was taken among the 14 declared candidates with these results:

Sen. Rand Paul emerged as the clear favorite, winning with 39 percent of the vote.
