Shooting Inside Manchester Store Leaves Man Seriously Injured

Police responded at a shooting on Maple Street inside the El Pacero Market, where police say two men arguing ended with one being shot.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police are investigating a shooting they say left a man seriously injured after he was shot inside a convenience store Wednesday.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at the El Pacero Market at 326 Maple St. at about 9:50 a.m. At about the same time, a 27-year-old man arrived at the Elliot Hospital via a private vehicle with a gunshot wound.

Officers at the store spoke to the store's workers, who said two men came into the store and appeared to have started arguing on the street. The argument continued inside the store.

Workers said they saw a gun and heard a shot and took cover behind the counter for their safety. After the gun was fired, both men left the store and were gone when the workers came up from behind the counter.

Manchester Police Chief Aldenberg said at the scene that the video from inside the store is high-quality. Police have reviewed the video and say the suspect is a black male wearing a blue or dark-colored shirt. Based on the audio in the video, it appears the men knew each other, and this does not appear to be a random act.
