BEDFORD, NH — Signups have begun for the Bedford Citizens Police Academy. The 10-week citizens academy is open to all Bedford residents and business owners who are 18 or older. The academy provides participants with an in-depth and multifaceted look at the diverse duties that officers carry out on a daily basis, according to Chief John J. Bryfonski.
"We encourage all residents and business owners interested in learning more about police operations to join us at the Citizens Police Academy," Bryfonski said. "It's a great opportunity for our community to learn more about our public safety services while getting to know local law enforcement officers."
Every aspect of police work including patrol operations, criminal investigations, forensic and crime scene investigative techniques, and other aspects of law enforcement, will be discussed during the course. The course last 10 weeks but residents are only required to attend a minimum of eight weeks. The class is free but space is limited.
