Skeletal Remains Found In New Boston ID’d As Missing Vermont Man: Cops
Devin Whitham of Saxtons River, Vermont, was reported missing in April 2023; an abandoned vehicle was found in New Boston a few days later.

NEW BOSTON, NH — The remains of a man found in New Boston last month have been identified as a missing man from Vermont.
Devin C. Whitham, 38, of Saxtons River, Vermont, was reported missing a little more than a year ago. On April 24, 2023, his vehicle was found abandoned at Lang Station along the New Boston rail trail.
“Over the following days, weeks, and months,” New Boston Police said in a release, “the area was extensively searched by members of the New Boston Police Department, NH State Police, NH Fish & Game, countless volunteers, multiple canine search teams, and Devin’s family and friends.”

Late last month, a “shed hunter” reported discovering skeletal remains in a wooded area off Francestown Road, a few miles from where the vehicle was found. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord confirmed the remains to be Whitham, Chief James Brace of the New Boston Police Department said.
The cause and manner of death are not being released at this time, but foul play is not suspected, police said.

“The New Boston Police Department would like to thank all of the agencies who assisted in the investigation and to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Whitham,” police stated.
